Have you ever been uber excited about a new year coming up? Have you ever started planning for that year earlier than ever? Well, that’s how I’m feeling and from what I’ve read, I’m not the only one.
This is probably the most excited I’ve ever been coming up to a brand new year. As a result, I am in full planning mode thanks to one wonderful tool and several recent articles and reports. Plus, my own renewed determination to make a living online.
First of all, do yourself a favor and print out this great planning calendar that I found. I’ve already three-holed punched, placed it in a ring binder notebook, and started plotting and planning my tasks. Last year I printed it out but it was in a little different format and at that time I really didn’t know how to fully use it.
This year I am ready!!!
So far this fall I have nixed 18 websites. Several are already gone, while the others will drop away when their “do not renew” time comes up. That way I have time to rescue any of the posts that are on the site, and that I can reuse. Several of them have quite a bit of unique or rewritten content, and I can repurpose much of it.
While I still have ten sites left, a couple more may bite the dust during 2012. Not sure yet, but if I find they are a burden and have no practical use, then out they go!
I’m more excited about this planning calendar this year as I have a better idea what I want to do in order to continue bringing in an income from my online activities. That should continue to increase in 2012. Here are my plans:
- Create PLR. My intended focus will be, first and foremost, my PLR Online website. I’ve had somewhat of a love/hate relationship with it since I opened up shop in April 2011. But, I’ve done a lot of thinking, reading, and studying about what the site could be and I am now getting excited. I’m starting to get a better picture of what I can do to make it a success.
- Create reports and ebooks. My second focus will be on creating new products. That has been on my radar much of this year but has not yet come to fruition. Creating my first report and then an ebook is high on my list following PLR creation.
- Continue to build Elder Care Cafe. I’ve always said as long as Dad is still alive, I will keep Elder Care Cafe going. He is now 89-years-old, but definitely slowing down. Not sure how long he will be around, but ECC will remain a strong presence. When the time comes, I will put it up for sale.
- Niche sites. I’m keeping several of my main niche sites although they are mostly informational sites and only earn Adsense income – not as much of that as they used to. But, I’m just not yet ready to let them go. They were the first sites I built after ECC, and are near and dear. So, for now they stay. The plan is for at least one “new” article per week, even if that means rewritten PLR. That still means keeping up the first five plus the three more recent sites by adding original content, as well as ECC and this site.
- Squidoo. My plan is to build one new lens each week. Over the past several months I’ve taken a break from Squidoo other than my Angel Blessing duties, but I’m also making more money through Squidoo than I am my niche sites so I want to step up the pace on creating new lenses. We will see how that works. If I find myself slipping away again, I may let that go as well.
- Book Reviews. Another love/hate because reading the books in the first place is very time consuming. But, I love mystery books and this is a great way to get free books to read in my favorite topic. I’ve been able to join Amazon Vine because of the reviews I have written and have “met” a number of well-known authors online through my reviews. Also, the MysteryBooks site on BellaOnline on Facebook is attracting people as well.
- Affiliate marketing. Another area I’m not really having great success in, but I’m also not pursuing like I could. Too much going on and little time to really spend promoting the products of others. This is something I really need to decide how much time and effort to put into it this next year.
How much time do I really want to spend on each if I am working towards increasing my income? That’s where the books reviews come under the spotlight. I’m certainly not bringing much of an income into the storehouse through the book reviews, but do get some Amazon income. Is receiving free mystery books really worth the time and effort? Hmmm.
Still a lot to consider, but I know my planning calendar is going to help me get a handle on what to do and when. I hope you get a chance to look at it and see if it is something you can use. Just click on the link above and find out how it can help you.
Are you starting to gear up for the new year? Do you have a plan in place or are you the type that goes by a wing and a prayer?
